Hedge Fund Review: People Moves in Asia

(Hedge Fund Review) The following are excerpts from Hedge Fund Review’s “People Moves“:
Philipp Hildebrand has been appointed as vice-chairman of BlackRock, overseeing the company’s largest institutional client relationships in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific. His appointment is effective from October. Hildebrand brings almost 20 years of experience across asset management and banking, most recently as chairman of the Swiss National Bank. He will report directly to chairman and chief executive officer Laurence Fink. Hildebrand will serve as a member of the global executive committee, as well as its EMEA and Asia-Pacific executive committees and be based in London.
In a separate move, BlackRock has appointed Andrew Landmanas head of alternatives in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. Landman has more than 18 years of industry experience and joins from Ascalon Capital, a subsidiary of BT Financial Group, where he is currently chief executive.
EFG Asset Management (EFGAM), the asset management arm of EFG International, has made two Hong Kong-based appointments. Nigel Szehas been appointed as head of Asia. He moves from being deputy CEO of EFG Bank Asia and head of private banking in Hong Kong, roles he has undertaken since 2009. Before joining EFG Bank, he was Asia head for high-net-worth clients at Citi global wealth management.
